Abstract: The principle of the thread guide mechanism of a two-for-one twister is studied. A new design method of the thread guide mechanism of the two-for-one twister is proposed:synthetic design can be achieved according to textile technology. Several design formulas of the gears of the thread guide mechanism are derived. Illustrative example shows that the formulas derived are right. This design method may be used for reference.
