Abstract: As an important part of the textile machinery for winding,the grooved drum has great impact on the quality of the bobbin.This paper addresses the characteristics,processing processes and application field of various grooved drums such as bakelite drum and metal drums,including steel plate drum,cast drum and superplastic alloy drum.It points out that the substitution of the bakelite drum with metal drum has become a developing trend,and that the steel plate drum and aluminum alloy drum are superior to the superplastic alloy drum for the enhancement of yarn quality.The present work has significant value in the research of grooved drums for improving the wearability,durability and for promotion of home-made products.
