Abstract: An efficient method for automatic measurement of garment dimensions is proposed in view of the problems such as low efficiency,high rate of mistakes in the method for measurement of garment dimensions by manual.Firstly,a measurement system is designed and its feasibility is also analyzed.Secondly,aiming at the difficulties to measure the garment dimensions automatically,the image measuring technique is used and the SUSAN method is proposed for the detection of external corners of garment image,the retro-reflective target is also used for the detection of inner corners of garment image.And methods for dimensions calculating and error analysis are also proposed.This method has overcome the problem that the dimensions hard to be measured as the garment is flexible.Experimental results show that its measurement accuracy can meet actual apparel industrial measurement requirements.
