Abstract: Double-sided disparate embroidery is a token of the peak of the Xiang embroidery’s development, but there is little research on its technology and art features. This paper analyzed the double-sided disparate embroidery from multi-aspects such as themes selection, painting composition, color, embroidery technology, plot and story, and mood creation, and researched the combination modes of the superb skills and the fabulous art of the double-sided disparate embroidery. At last we pointed out that in order to inheriting and developing Xiang embroidery in modern society, it is neccesary to keep up Xiang embroidery’s unique art features and embroidery technology.
