Abstract: This paper studies the influence of body forms of infants on the clothing structure and function design from the Ergonomics perspective.Firstly,the body observation,anthropometrics and temperature measurements of 38 infants were conducted.Secondly,the body characteristics were analyzed based on the observation and measurements from the standpoint of morphology,motion,physiology and psychology.The influence of body characteristics on the clothing function was discussed.Finally,the relationship between infant characteristics and the key points in infant clothing design was studied on eight aspects: fabric selection,clothing outline,size,structure,color,pattern,and accessory as well as sewing method.
