Abstract:

Many combinations between external form and its symbolic significance of clothing color are existed. To distinguish Li from other nationalities,the key point is to explore the corresponding relationship. Based on the semiotics, this article form Li people ideology and literature material to explore illustration of thought origin of Li clothing color, connotation of Li clothing color is investigated according to folk and religious. Furthermore, the symbolic meaning of color is discussed combined with examples from clothing color schemes of five dialects, custom of wedding and funeral, sacrificial activities. The function of color symbol in Li clothing color is identity, aesthetic and emotional sustenance.
