Abstract:
In order to reinforce and toughen polylactic acid (PLA) fiber, polyamide (PA) was blended with PLA, and then spun. The thermal property, crystallization, heat stability, dispersibility of PA and mechanical property of PLA/PA fiber were studied. The results show that the addition of PA has no significance effect on the glass transition temperature and melting temperature of PLA, but the crystallization behavior of PLA is improved, and the degree of crystallinity enhances by 551.6%. The heat stability of PLA was improved with the increasing of the content of PA, and the dispersibility of PA is very uniform in PLA. With the increasing of draft ratio, the orientation degree and mechanical property of PLA/PA fiber are enhanced. When the draft ratio increased from 1.5 to 3.0, the orientation degree and breaking strength of PLA/PA fiber enhanced 30.88% and 48.58%, respectively. When the content of PA is 1% and 20%, the breaking strength of PLA/PA fiber increased 8.6% and 25%, and elongation at break of PLA/PA increases by 10.9% and 55.9%, respectively.
