Abstract: Pure silk and cotton fabrics were dyed with natural dye lithospermum erythrorrhizon by the traditional method, and the camouflage properties of the dyed fabrics were evaluated. It is found by experiments that these fabrics have good camouflage protective functions in resistance to ultraviolet, visible, and near infrared rays.Their protective indexes are up to the standards of the army. These camouflage protective functions may be attributed to the electronic transition of a-naphthaquinone in lithospermum erythrorrhizon.
