Abstract: Conductive composite fibers of polyaniline doped with dodecylbenzene sulfonic acid(PANI-DBSA) and polyacrylonitrile(PAN) were prepared via a conventional wet spinning process. The dispersion of PANI-DBSA in PAN matrix was studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).The effect of PANI-DBSA content on the electrical and mechanical properties of the fiber was investigated. The results show that the PANI-DBSA dispersed in matrix uniformly in nanometer size. The conducting network already formed at low PANIDBSA content. When PANI-DBSA composite fiber has a mass fraction of 5%,the fiber demonstrates excellent mechanical properties and has conductivity of an order of(10~(-3) S/cm.)
