Abstract: Flat pattern design is a very complex process.A pattern master has to take years to gain valuable experience through repeated practice.The method using BP algorithm of ANN to simulate the pattern master′s experience and technique is proposed and used in the flat pattern design of women trousers.This method realizes automatic mapping from the body measurement to the garment size with higher accuracy.Experimental results show that this method is feasible.
