Abstract: Films for lamination were prepared via a melt blending of thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU) and polyester with low melt point, and their moisture permeability, thermal bonding properties, resistance to hydrostatic pressure and mechanical properties were tested. The investigation demonstrated that the peel strength was improved and lamination temperature decreased when the polyester was added. However,it would also result in negative effect to moisture permeability and softness. Therefore, the introduction amount of the polyester with low melt point into the TPU should be controlled in the proper range so as to realize the goal of improving its heat-melt adhesion.
