Abstract: A method to measure the 3D draping shape of woven fabrics by structure light is proposed.A series of black and white stripe occurred on the surface of the fabric by parallel structure light. The contour lines and edge of the fabric in projection image are detected based on polar coordinated radial scan algorithm,by which a series of points on the contour lines and edge of the fabric are obtained.Finally,three-dimensional draping shape of fabrics is reconstructed through 3D surface modeling technique based on the polar grids.Experiment results show that the proposed method can reconstruct ideally the 3D draping shape of fabrics.
