Abstract: The effect of UV-radiation on PET and the stabilizing role of dulling agents and UV shield agents were investigated. The results indicated that PET fibers after exposure to UV-radiation exhibited a marked reduction in molecular weight and tensile strength, noticeable decline in glass-transition temperature and melting temperature, but an increase in crystallinity. And dulling agents and the UV shield agent had stabilizing function for PET during exposure to UV-radiation.
