Abstract: Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAAM) is a new type of thermo-sensitive polymer which is an area of extensive study and gaining rapid development nowadays. However, the low intensity of PNIPAAM restricts its application fields seriously. To remedy this deficiency, grafting PNIPAAM to other macromolecule materials with better physical property becomes a feasible method.Meanwhile, the macromolecule materials will be endowed with some special properties after grafting. This reviews the present researches working on the grafting methods of N-isopropylacrylamide including radiation grafting, solution free radical grafting,photo-induced grafting, and low temperature plasma grafting.
