Abstract: The paper makes a review of the resources,constituent,microscopic structure,physical properties,manufacturing process,and product development of banana fiber,and analyzes the weak points of banana fiber in product development when compared with other bast fibers.The main aspects deserve special attentions in the product development of the fiber is given.It is believed that the banana fiber has a great potential in development and application in textile industry.
