Cultural characteristics of the "tiger" pattern dress

Abstract: This paper made an investigation into the typical representative of the Chinese civil children′s dress on which the″tiger″pattern is printed or attached by sewing or embroidery in terms of its cultural characteristics and art value as well as the reference value for modern garment design with emphasis on shaping,color and workmanship.It also probed into its symbolic meaning and cultural value in the society from the viewpoint of clothes culture,pointing out that thet″iger″image on the Chinese civil children′s dress has integrated the functionality,aesthetics and culture,combining practical function and civil culture with unique symbolic meaning,which constitute the cultural characteristics of the Chinese civil children′s dress with t″iger″patterns.
