Abstract: Fourier Transform Profilometry(FTP) based on parallel optical axis geometry was proposed. In this method, crepe fabric surface section contour image based on digital weighted filter was employed.Four feature parameters were proposed, such as coarse degree, fractal dimensions, surface areas, and average offset. These can be extracted from the 3-D contour data of surface shape. The experimental results show that these feature values can reflect the crepe degree of a crepe from different sides;it has closely linear correlation between feature values and crepe fabric crepe degree, which can be used to assess fabric crepe degree objectively.
