Abstract: Generally speaking, folk clothing accessories consist of Meile (female’s ornament to band hair), coronet, powder puff, Yunjian (shawl), Dudou (traditional underwear), gloves, sleeves, pouch, wallet, puttees, socks, shoes, shoe-pad, etc. Each of them has its specific and basic “applicative functions” for human beings. Starting from basic applicative function, this article analyzes their protective functions, and further analyzes rationality and applicability of folk clothing accessories from aspects of technology, structure and decoration, verifies these have both basic applicative function to satisfy people’s substance requirements and comfortable function to ensure people’s physiological requirements, and forms synthetic performance of suitable for use.
