Abstract: In order to predict the structure characteristics and appearance effect of warp-knitted fabrics, O Goktepe’s 3-D solid yarn model is improved based on the study of normal warp-knitted loops, thus the 3-D dimensions of the loop can be obtained; with the principles of non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) curves and curved surfaces, the 3-D loop models of stitches and inlay of warp knitted structures are built; then with these 3-D loop models and according to the chain notations of warp-knitted structures, various kinds of loops can be connected freely; finally, with the tools of Visual C++ and OpenGL, 3-D simulation of single-bar and two-bar warp knitted fabrics is successfully realized by introducing the factors of fabric light and material quality into 3-D structural model.
