Abstract: To develop a small-diameter tissue engineering blood vessel, the biocompatible and biodegradable PLA, silk fibroin and gelatin were used as materials, polylactide/silk fibroin-gelatin composite tubular scaffold with 4.5 mm diameter was fabricated via electrospinning, which was performed on a high speed rotating mandrel. The composite tubular scaffold was composed of a PLA fibrous outside layer and a silk fibroin-gelatin fibrous inside layer. The morphology of the scaffold was observed by SEM; Porosity and biomechanical properties of the scaffold were characterized, HUVECs were cultured on the scaffold. The results indicate that PLA/silk fibroin-gelatin composite tubular scaffold shows a high breaking tenacity and preferable pliability, the burst strength of the scaffold is higher than normal blood pressure in human body; The scaffold has a lacunaris structure, SEM shows HUVECs could grow and proliferate on the scaffold.
