Abstract: To solve contradiction between the mass production of contemporary apparel and clothing individual consumption, three types of clothing construction are summarized with the review of costume construction techniques having been explored by humans through long-term. They are the wrapping, draping and covering construction methods. The shape characteristics of the clothing are analysed which are made through these three construction methods. Basing on the principles of clothing construction, the final series of apparel are produced through relevant experiments. The construction methods are developed integrating the advantages of three principles of clothing construction. The pieced of clothing are formed with stability structure, diversified wearing methods and can be mass produced. It can solve the contradiction between the mass production of contemporary apparel and clothing individual consumption.
