Abstract: In order to prepare polyphenylene sulfide spunbonded nonwovens, the properties of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) were first studied by DSC、TG and MFR. The results of the study showed that PPS had good thermal stability, the melting point was 280℃ ,and the melt flow rate (MFR) reached the maximum value 158.7 g/10min at 315℃. Based on these tests, the PPS spunbonded nonwovens were prepared with experimental spunbonded machine. The filter properties were analyzed. The results showed that the diameter of the PPS fibers was about 37.6μm, and the curve of aperture distribution was similar to the normal distribution one. The average pore size was 31.6μm. The value of the filter efficiency for the particles whose size is larger than 10 μm, could reach 98.1 %.
