Abstract: The coloration of acrylic acid photografted linen fabric was performed using cationic dye (C.I.Basic Violet10). The Langmuir, Freundlich, Nernst models were used to describe the adsorption isother of acrylic acid photografted linen fabric. The affinity, heat of dyeing, entropy of dyeing and other thermodynamic parameters were calculated. The results showed that adsorption isotherms of cationic dyeing onto photografted linen fabric correlated with the Langmuir model well. The affinity was found to increase with the temperature increasing, which means the larger transfer trend and greater driving force. The positive values of heat and entropy of dyeing indicated an endothermic dyeing process and increasing degree of disorder on dyeing of C.I.Basic Violet10 onto photografted linen fabric.
