Abstract: PTT/PANI composite conductive fibers were prepared using in-situ polymerization. The effects of reaction time, plasma pre-treatment, stretching on the electrical conductivity of composite fiber were investigated. The surface morphology, thermal characterization and mechanical characterization of composite fiber were also studied. The results indicated that PTT/PANI composite fibers obtained by in-situ polymerization with good conducting property, and the electrical conductivity reached 10-2S/cm, and much higher electrical conductivity would reached by base fiber’s oxygen plasma pre-treatment. Reaction time affects the electrical conductivity of PTT/PANI composite fiber obviously. The electrical conductivity of composite fiber declines significantly after stretching. The thermal stability of composite fiber is better than that of base fiber over 430℃, and the mechanical property of composite fiber is also better than that of base fiber.
