Abstract: Effects of needle spacing and number on electric-field distribution and morphology of electrospun fibers were studied by means of the Maxwell electric-field-simulation software and concrete experiments. Results showed that decrease of the mutual interference of electric field due to the increase of needle spacing would lead to the transition of outlook of the fibrous web from ellipse to circle. In multi-needle electrospinning process, there was a significant difference for the outlook of fibrous webs obtained by the needles in the middle and those on the margin. According to the research conclusions, a steel-belt-type multi-needle electrospinning set-up was designed in this paper. Homogeneous nanofiber webs with different width and specifications could be prepared through adjustment of the distribution of needles and the rotation of steel belt.
