Abstract: The advantages of reactive dye/D5 suspending system dyeing are water-saving and salt-free, for improving the dye up-taking control, and dyeing process optimization of the reactive dye on cotton, the adsorption kinetic experiments were carried out by C.I. reactive 195, and the dyeing mechanism was investigated. Pseudo first-and second-order kinetic models were used to examine the adsorption kinetic data, some dyeing kinetic parameters of reactive dye/D5 suspending system dyeing and conventional reactive dyeing were studied. The results indicated that the adsorption kinetics of reactive dye/D5 suspending system dyeing and conventional reactive dyeing were found to follow the pseudo second-order kinetic model. The new dyeing process can increase the amounts of dye adsorbed at equilibrium and reduce half-dyeing time.
