Abstract: It is used the fiber diameter of 3.42 and average pore diameter and porosity of 23.6 and 95.07% of glass fiber nonwoven as the filter material, then use the grain diameter of 13.076 A3 powder as impurity particles, and the dynamic viscosity for 1.275×10-2 Pa ? S of YH-15 engine oil as the testing liquid. So the D-30 multiple-experiment equipment was used to simulate the automobile engine oil filtration process and filter performance. According to the test results, firstly establishing impurities particle interception model and calculating the filtration efficiency of nonwoven and fiber and QF. The experimental results indicate that the pressure drop of glass fiber nonwoven increases as the increasing of time and particle mass. Additionally, the filtration efficiency of nonwoven is higher than fiber, and have the same change trend. The QF value can be used to express the filtration effect of glass fiber nonwoven, and the QF decreases as the decreasing of impurity particle diameter and the increasing of filtering time.

Key words: quality factor, filtration material, filtration effect, impurity particle, filtration time
