Abstract: In order to investigate the effects of loading mode on the tension-resistance performance of the uni-directional composite, the micro-structure finite element models of the uni-directional composites were established by using the finite element software ABAQUS (version: 6.10) according to the two loading modes, i.e., the tensile direction is parallel/perpendicular to the axial direction of the yarn. And the vertical and horizontal deflection-time curves, load distribution and progressive deflection evolution under a constant loading condition were calculated. By analyzing the calculation results, it was found that the loading mode has a distinct impact on the mechanical behavior of the uni-directional composite. The composite shown the better tension-resistance performance when the tensile direction was parallel to the axial direction of the yarn. In addition, to obtain the best mechanical performance when designing the tension-resistance composites, it was recommended to make the loading direction parallel to the axial direction of the fibers or yarn reinforcements.
