Abstract: Using the probability density function with parameters to characterize the cotton fiber length distribution, it is not only conducive to the calculation of some fiber length indicators, but also beneficial to fully discribe the fiber length distribution. Based on the fiber length frequency histograms measured by USTER AFIS Pro., two- and three-component mixed Weibull distributions are adopted to fit these histograms, and the relevant length indicators are calculated. The results show that the mixed Weibull distribution can well fit length distribution of cotton fibers. In addition, by comparing the calculated values with the tested ones, two-component mixed Weibull distribution is superior to three-component mixed distribution.
