Abstract: A electrospinning setup with different sizes of collectors was developed to study the electric field distribution effects on the fiber diameter and fiber mat thickness , some contradistinctive experiments were conducted respectively in the single-needle and the single-hole electrospinning setups to measure fiber diameter and thickness distribution of fiber mats. Both single-needle and single-hole setup electric field distribution were simulated using Maxwell software, and the simulation results were used to explain the results of experiments. The results of the experiment and simulation demonstrate that more uniform electric field ,fibers with smaller diameters and more uniform fiber mats can achieved by using collectors of smaller size. Obviously,we can draw a conclusion that collectors with small size can enhance fiber receiving of electrospinning
