Abstract: The synthesized chitosan derivative (HTCC, DQ=92.8%) was used for the wool finishing. The finishing conditions and the dyeing properties of treated wool were studied. Results show that, HTCC can be well adsorbed on the wool; the adsorption was decreasing with the increase of the pH of finishing solution. On the contrary, the adsorption was increasing with the increase of HTCC concentration. The dyeing rate of finished wool was at a faster rate and the equilibrium dyeing rate was increased using direct dye, neutral and acid dyes. Color fastness to washing can be improved and the good color-fastnesses to rubbing were maintained.
