Abstract:
PVA/PEI nanofibers were obtained by employing the mixture of polyvinylalcohol (PVA) and polyetherimide (PEI) as precursor as well as adopting the electrospinning technique. After that, the PVA/PEI nanofibers were crosslinked with glutaraldehyde (GA) and then functionalized with (Triethoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate (MPTES), followed by immobilizing platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) on them. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were utilized to characterize the morphology, structures of the PtNPs/(PVA/PEI) hybrids. The results indicate that the hybrids with well-dispersed PtNPs on the nanofibers were successfully synthesized and hybrids exhibit excellent photocatalytic activity toward Rhodamine B.
