Abstract:
To investigate the feasibility of coated silver polymeric filament (CSPFs) used in active warming clothing. Some experiments were performed for testing the thermal-electrical stability of CSPFs, and three kinds of knitted heating fabrics (KHFs) were designed and fabricated by using CSPFs and polyester yarns to study their heating effects. Experimental results showed resistances of CSPFs increased with ageing time and ageing temperature. By taking and analyzing infrared temperature images of KHFs and CSPFs, surface maximum equilibrium temperature of KHFs and CSPFs is strongly linear correlative with power consumption density. Furthermore, power consumption density of KHFs is also strongly linear positive correlative with inner equilibrium temperature of mimetic clothing.
