Survey and analysis on domestic and overseas human body database for garments’ use

Abstract:

Human body anthropometric data is fundamental basement for fashion design and manufacturing. And body database provides a platform to store and retrieve those data digitally. It’s also important support both in technology and data for body size characteristic research and apparel manufacturing. This paper attempted to carry out discussions on apparel industry’s requirements, obtaining technology and development trends of human body anthropometric data. A survey via multi channels showed basic situation of the establishment, operation and data information inside 22 human body databases domestic and overseas. We also conducted a comparative analysis of frame feature and function module among databases in normal used to provide guidance and accumulation for use and establishment of human body databases.
