Abstract:
Hydrolytic kinetics of reactive brilliant blue KN-R in sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (LAS) systems with different concentrations was investigated qualitatively and quantitatively using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Results showed that hydrolytic reaction of KN-R in water and surfactant systems were all pseudo first-order reaction under 60℃, pH=10 condition, and the hydrolysis rate constants were affected by the concentration of the LAS. When the concentration of LAS was 0.1 g/L (< CMC), the hydrolysis rate constant was about 1.37×10-2 min-1, 3 times higher than that of KN-R in water. Increase the concentration of LAS to 1 g/L (>CMC), the hydrolysis rate constant was slightly lower than that of KN-R in water, which means that in higher concentration of LAS systems, the hydrolytic reaction was partly inhibited. Meanwhile, increase of temperature significantly accelerated the hydrolysis of KN-R.
