Characteristic elements and constitution of modern tie-dyeing

Abstract:

In order to objectively describe the modern tie-dyeing technique and artistic characteristics, so as to better serve the textile and garment industry. Based on twodemensions of the tie-dyeing process and the pattern style, this paper quantifies the modern tie-dye characteristic elements from the process and pattern style. We get the characteristic elements' data through the investigation, and discuss its' composition by statistical analysis. The results show that characteristic elements of modern tie-dye process feature are binding, aggregating, dyeing, dipping and once forming; characteristic elements of pattern are multicolor, highly purity, strong contrast, line shape, simple structure, abstract, fashion, leisure and personality.
