Abstract:
The composite foaming material with hemp fiber reinforced poly-lactic acid (PLA) matrix was prepared by the method of mould foaming and the relationship between the mechanical properties of the hemp/PLA composite foamed material and the hemp fiber length as well as the hemp fiber addition were investigated. The results show that, the Young’s modulus and the yield stress of the compressive property of hemp/PLA composite foamed material were correlated with the exponential function of hemp fiber length in a positive squared relation, and with the hemp fiber addition in a positive squared relation. The breaking strength of hemp/PLA composite foamed material is correlated with the hemp fiber length and the hemp fiber addition in a positive exponent relation, respectively. Furthermore, with the increase of the hemp fiber length and the hemp fiber addition, the elasticity moduli of the hemp/PLA composite foaming material were all on an upward trend and the elongations at break show a little variation.
