Abstract:
In order to improve adsorption treatment capability for textile wastewater, hybrid mesoporous silica nanoparticles (HMSN) were prepared by copolycondensation and modification with hyperbranched polymer. HMSN were introduced into anion-modified cotton fiber surface by self-assembly, and composite fiber adsorbent based on cellulose fiber and functionalized mesoporous silica was prepared, realizing the efficient adsorption of organic dyes in aqueous solution. Characterization and adsorption experiments were conducted. The results show that the hybrid fiber surface is covered with mesoporous nanoparticles with an average diameter of 40 nm, forming a mesoporous silica/cotton fiber adsorbent rich in functional groups. The hybrid fiber adsorbent possesses high-efficiency adsorption for Congo red from aqueous medium. The adsorption equilibrium can be reached within 180 min with a saturated capacity of 195 mg/g.
