Abstract: Attempting to make a cigarette filter which can filter more harmful substances such as tar and is more eco-friendly,surface modification treatment of the acetate fiber for filter cigarette was performed by low temperature plasma, cellulase, and combination of both so that the specific surface area, absorption power, and filtering capacity of the fiber were enhanced.Micronaire value, weight reduction rate and K/S value of the fiber were measured, and its morphological change along longitudinal section was observed by SEM.The results demonstrated that the fiber treated by the combination of low temperature plasma and cellulase has a rougher surface,a larger specific surface area and better adsorption and filtering capacity than that treated by low temperature plasma or cellulase only.
