Abstract: As an important part of CAD for woven fabric,the simulation technique of woven appearance has received due attention and research,and some mature techniques have come into being,which can be classified into three categories: color matching model-based method,yarn designing-based method,and geometrical model and light model-based method.The simulation′s principles were introduced and the main virtue and shortcomings about every model of each method were analyzed.A systematic comparison and evaluation of the three methods was performed and the applicable field of each method was presented.The future research direction in this area is also discussed.
