Abstract: Configuration of milk protein fiber was observed by SEM and found that it is a profile-fiber with little holes in its section and grooves in its surface.Analysis of milk protein fiber by X-ray diffraction showed that its crystalline region is composed of PVA molecules arranged regularly, and the results amorphous region consists of milk protein. The properties such as hydroscopicity, mechanics, and friction of the fiber were tested and the results indicated that milk protein fiber is an excellent textile material which has integrated the merits of silk and synthetic fiber.
