Abstract: This study intends to evaluate the influence of the organic conductive staple fiber on the antistatic property of the fabric. Cotton and polyester respectively are blended with different propotions of organic conductive staple fibers by various spinning methods. The conductive property of the fabrics woven with these blended yarns was tested. The results show that with the same content of organic conductive staple fibers, the ring spun yarn is better than the rotor spun yarn with respect of the conductive property. Small percentage of the conductive fiber, around 4%,is enough for the antistatic property requirement, the specific area resistance of the fabric is reduced to in the range of 107~109Ω/cm2.Higher content of conductive fibers is meaningless, not only increasing the cost but also affecting the servicebility of the fabric. Small percentage of staple conductive fibers has little influence on yarns’ strength and breaking elongation.
