Abstract: The chemical and physical properties of the feather fiber were evaluated with weight loss,breaking strength and breaking elongation.The results revealed that the feather fiber has good acid resistance.In the solution of 150 mL/L H2SO4,the physical properties of feather fiber are stable;while the alkaline resistance of feather fiber is poor.The NaOH solution with pH=9 will degrade the physical properties of the feather fiber.Feather fiber is very sensitive to oxidant;0.5 mL/L NaClO decreases the breaking strength and breaking elongation of feather fiber significantly;while 200 mL/L NaHSO3does not induce distinct change to the physical properties of feather fiber.
