Biaxial circular weft knitted high performance polyethylene fabric and development of its producing equipment

Abstract: This paper introduces the structure of the biaxial circular weft knitted high performance polyethylene fabric and the circular knitting machine. It makes a detailed analysis of the problems of buckling phenomenon the fabric at the inner side of the needle cylinder during knitting and wrinkles occurred at the drawing area. The wavy curvilinear design of the inner wall of the needle cylinder is invented for the first time to solve the buckling problem due to the reason that the circular fabric diameter is bigger than that of the needle cylinder, and the intermittent inductive roll-up device is applied to remove the wrinkles resulted from the shrinkage of the binding stitch structure. The trial knitting shows that these modifications to the traditional circular knitting machine can effectively eliminate the buckling and wrinkle defects.
