Abstract: The emulsion with core-shell structure was prepared with organosilicon and acrylate monomers through emulsion polymerization. The correlation of polymeric condition and conversion rate of monomers was investigated. The structure of copolymer emulsion was characterized by TEM and FTIR.Pigment printing of cotton fabrics with this emulsion as binder was performed and the properties of the printed fabrics were analyzed. The results show that the optimal polymerization conditions for the core-shell emulsion are as follows: 6% compound emulsifier;0.6% initiator;reacting at the temperature 80~(85 ℃.) The rigidity of the printed fabrics decreases gradually as the content of organosilicon monomers in the polymer emulsion increases, and the colour data such as L,C and K/S value of the printed fabrics increase significantly, indicating that the printed fabrics have a soft hand and improved colour fastness.
