Abstract: Polyvinyl alcohol/ starch blend fibers were prepared, the thermal behavior of these fibers were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis(TG).In addition,Fourier-transform infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy was used to investigate the hydrogen bonding action between different components. Then surface morphology was observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).It could be found that two components had stronger hydrogen bonding action under certain mass ratio,in comparison with PVA or starch, two components formed different structure by hydrogen bond, fibers with different mass fraction of starch had different heat-resisting property.
