Abstract: Cellulose was pretreated in solution of 1,2-ethylene diamine. The changes of structure of pretreated cellulose were investigated. The change of crystallinity was characterized by X-ray diffraction. It can be concluded that cellulose pretreated in solution of 1,2-ethylene diamine leads to great decrease of crystallinity.Pretreated cellulose can more easily dissolves in N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide/H2O under the same conditions. Then the steady-state and dynamic rheological behavior of pretreated cellulose and original cellulose solutions were investigated respectively. The distribution of relative molecular mass of pretreated cellulose/N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide/H2O solution became narrow. The entanglements of cellulose turned strong. It can keep the mechanical intensity when spinning.
