Abstract: In 3-D garment simulation, mannequins with different shapes are usually used to show wearing effect such as stereoscopic impression and fitness etc.Taken into consideration this practical application,a novel method for parameterized mannequin modeling was proposed.Feature parameters are determined according to anthropometry. Both template and result models are described in terms of polygonal meshes.Low-level geometry handling is based on axial deformation technique in computer graphics.Additionally,Radial deformation weight curves also have been introduced to improve the flexibility of modification. The remarkable advantages of this method are the simplicity of operating, the intuition of input and the quick speed of modeling. The method can be effectively applied to 3-D garment simulation environment in need of individual mannequins.
