Abstract: The test data of linen yarns with Uster was analyzed by principal component analysis method and compared with the test data by the seriplane. It was shown that it can make a satisfied linearization for the test data of linen yarn with Uster, and was well in accordance with the results tested by seriplane. Though this method, it also can analyze the linen yarn very qualitatively and quantitatively. The study indicated that, it is very possible to use the principal component analysis in analysis and quality control of linen yarns with the Uster test data. The data also indicated that，the seriplane test will be replaced by the Uster test after constructing a standard database.
