Abstract: In order to engineering Warp Knitted Multi-axial Grid Fabrics, the paper analyzes the configuration characteristic of warp-knitted multi-axial grid fabrics as reinforcement used in cement based composite. Reinforcing cement materials as a starting point, Based on the size of grid and mechanical properties, it explains the selection of reinforcing yarn, the direction and layout mode of yarns and the bonding construction in details. It also gives the computational methods for calculating the gauge of yarns and areal density of fabric. Finally, a quadric-axial warp knitted grid fabric which has been designed and produced is demonstrated and tested. It’s proved that it is possible to design the multi-axial grid fabric to meet with the requirement of reinforced cement based composite in practice.
